Physical and Chemical PropertiesDark blue powder, soluble in water, blue to navy blue solution, slightly soluble in ethanol and fibrinolytic, insoluble in other organic solvents. In case of concentrated sulfuric acid, it is bright blue, and after dilution, it is purple to red and blue. Its aqueous solution is added with concentrated hydrochloric acid to generate navy blue precipitate; sodium hydroxide solution is added to generate dark purple precipitate. When dyeing cellulose fibers, the dye has good absorption. When the temperature is 60-80 ℃, the affinity is the largest and the dyeing property is good.

C.I. Direct Blue 6 - Introduction

DIRECT BLUE 6 (also known as Direct hydroxylated Blue 6) is an organic synthetic dye with the chemical name of DIRECT BLUE 6, the molecular formula is C32H22N6Na2O6S2, and the relative molecular mass is 746.67g/mol. It is an indigo dye with a dark blue color.

DIRECT BLUE 6 has good solubility and good affinity for fibers such as cotton, wool and silk. It is widely used in textile, dye, leather, paint and glass manufacturing and other industrial fields. DIRECT BLUE 6 is a commonly used natural fiber dye that can be used for dyeing textiles and Labeling biomolecules.
